>The Mirror Looks Back
Don’t you just hate it when you’re on your soap box, stressing valid points and pointing out the how’s and what’s that someone needs to fix or change, when suddenly that quiet little voice inside you whispers “Really? Do you know EVERYTHING about this situation? Do you know EVERYTHING that shaped the people involved? Do you know EVERYTHING they’re going through right at this moment? And are YOU perfect?” Aaarrrrgggg!!!! I especially hate it when the voice is right. It’s easy to look from the outside angles and point out every shortcoming or flaw or mistake. It’s harder to stop and think about how things got that way or give the people involved benefit of the doubt, or a little bit of mercy. After all, God knows I’ve been given mercy by the buckets full.
I read once that you should be careful what you hate, lest you become what you hate. Sadly, I can see some examples of that in me. Hey, I’m being honest. Honesty is one of the things I respect most. So, I consider myself chastised; I will pray for forgiveness and try to keep this in mind the next time I feel the urge to go off on someone else’s perceived shortcomings.
On a more positive note, I have done some constructive things since I got home from a very crazy work day. Yay me!!! Now, I have to actually go finish some of the things I started…so I’m off for now. I will try to check back in tomorrow morning…I hope we don’t get a lot of snow…..
