>Open House

Well, the day is here. Tomorrow (or today if you’re reading this on a Wednesday) is our annual Open House. Parents of children moving up into their new classrooms get a chance to meet their new teachers, learn about new skills we’ll be helping their children master, new expectations, rules, and requirements.

They will also get a chance to meet us and hopefully get to know us a bit. Yeah….I don’t like to talk to grown-ups face to face so much….give me the kids and I’m great. Grown ups scare me πŸ™‚

We’ve been letting the upcoming kids visit in all their new rooms and so far the kids visiting in our classroom have done really well. One little girl has actually been telling her mom for some time now that she doesn’t want to go to her room anymore. She wants to come to ours! This morning, she stood in our doorway, talking, for a long time before her mom could convince her to go to her room. That makes me feel pretty good. For a change, we’re going to have mostly boys. Wow. Hopefully, less ‘drama’ and more goofing, which is a lot of fun.

Anyway, Open House is usually a very successful event. I’m looking forward to it being over. I’m whipped, but we’re pretty much ready. Then, Thursday’s Trike a Thon for St. Jude’s and Friday-a breeze (hopefully).  I’ll be back to reading blogs sometime after that….hope you all are having a wonderful week. Stay out of the heat!

About CuriousCat

I love to learn new things-anything from how to create a junk journal to the way light moves through space; why cats present their behinds to us to the effects of chemicals on our endocrine system. If it interests me, I can spend hours reading and learning about it.
